It's droopy out there!

After a night of uncomfortable sleep, Bryan and I came to the conclusion that I am not in any state to drive today.  A few days ago I did something (splashing water out of the pool, cannonballs, or just over age 30 old age) that has left my left shoulder blade in a considerable amount of pain.  My spine is now very stiff between my shoulder blades and I'm getting referring pain in my thumb (Yay!).  I'm hoping that taking it easy for the day will allow my back to mend.  The heating pad and I are going to be friends today.

So I guess you're wondering what the deal is with the title today, right?  Well, Ellie's tuition is due at her school today, but since I can't drive (I can barely pick up a glass with my dominant hand), I have to mail in the tuition.  I sent Madeline out to the mailbox (wearing her silky gnome nightgown and her high heel sandals--that was a sight).  She came inside and informed me that she wouldn't be able to play outside today.  So, as usual, it took the conversation bait and asked why. "It's droopy out there!" replied my odd child.  "Droopy? What's that supposed to mean?" I ask.  Are you ready for this?  Apparently, Madeline got hit with a few raindrops while she was out there.  Run for cover people! The atmosphere is beginning to droop.  Probably won't be long before the sky falls.

  1. I love that "droopy"; have to remember that for when we have a bit of rain

sorry about your shoulder/arm/spine; sounds like something nerve related with it going down your arm; but what do I know.....

  2. So cute!
Hope you are feeling better. That sounds painful! I hear chocolate cures just about anything. ;)

  3. Thanks for the tip, Cookie. I'll have to go try some chocolate. If nothing else, you've made me laugh.

  4. Does the pool help? For some people heat helps and for others the cold is better. My mom just had surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome and is using swimming as part of her physical therapy. I hope it gets better for you.

  5. Elizabeth,
If I wasn't a kid at heart, the pool might help me. I cannot bring myself to get into a pool without jumping in (usually a cannonball). So every time I get in the pool, I get a reminder that 31 isn't necessarily youthful. Ugh. I'm spending most of my time laying in a float and that makes my back feel better, but I really feel it once I get out of the pool.
