It's been a while since I've been able to write. Two and a half years ago I got this brilliant idea that if I blogged through most of Lent that I'd be able to get back into blogging regularly since life with four kids was making it a little difficult. At the time I was trying to prove to myself that I could blog, homeschool, balance a busy life with four kids and a little one on the way. So while I was blogging away, I was suffering though one of the roughest first trimester and eventually entire pregnancy I've ever endured. In the end something had to give, and blogging was it.
Life is different now. We have a teen driver who will be going to college next year. We have another teen who will be going to high school next year. We no longer homeschool anyone. All of the kids are enrolled in school, with the exception of the baby who's already two years old. Having five kids has taught me the value of saying no to extra things outside of home and family. I still coordinate VBS for our parish. I also write the program that we use now, so instead of writing for me, I'm writing for the kids who attend VBS. I no longer teach religious ed after coming to the realization that I could better serve my family by being at home instead of teaching on Sunday mornings. Last year it took a bit of getting used to not having a class, but I like that our weekends are less scheduled.
I'm presently trying my best to detach from belongings that we don't need or cause clutter. I'm finding the more we remove from the house the easier it is to keep clean and organized. And with seven of us in the house I need all the order I can get my hands on.
I'm hoping to start writing regularly, but we'll see how it goes. I find as the smaller kids get older life is becoming a little less chaotic.

So funny, I was just thinking about you the other day. Congrats on baby #5! Can't believe your eldest is getting ready to go off to college next year! Time goes by so fast!
